Description
The MG 1/100 Strike Freedom Gundam (Mechanic Designer Okawara Kunio Exhibition Ver.) is a limited-edition Master Grade Gunpla kit released by Bandai in September 2015. It was sold exclusively as a tie-in souvenir for the Mechanic Designer Okawara Kunio Exhibition held at the Ueno Royal Museum in Tokyo, Japan.
Key Features & Differences
This variant uses the internal skeletal molding and plastic sprues of the original 2006 Master Grade Strike Freedom Gundam but introduces several aesthetic and premium upgrades:
Muted Custom Color Palette: The standard bright white, blue, and red plastics from the base kit are swapped out for customized, slightly more muted tones specified to match Kunio Okawara's original artistic illustrations.
Exclusive Water-Slide Decals: The box includes a completely unique sheet of custom marking decals featuring the designer's personal branding. Most notably, the decals include stylized initials ("K.O.") to be placed across the mobile suit's wings.
"Wings of the Sky" Effect Parts: Included directly in the box are special iridescent, clear-pink effect expansion parts for the Super DRAGOON system. When arranged on the display stand, these translucent wings visually shape out the letters "K" and "O" as a direct tribute to Okawara.
