Description
The Su-33 is a carrier-based fighter version of the Su-27. It is fitted with canards to increase lift when taking off and maneuverability in the air, and the tail cone has been shortened to prevent the tail from rubbing against the ship when taking off and landing, with the specifications modified to take into account operation on aircraft carriers. Flanker is the NATO code name, and in Russia it is known as "Zhuravlik (Young Crane).
