Little Armory - LA079 AKMS & AKMSU Type 1/12
Description
A set of two guns, AKMS and AKMSU. Stock can be opened or closed, and suppressor or bayonet can be selected. Wood parts are reproduced in a different molded color. Safety lever is a separate part.
The AKM was made official in 1959 as a modernized version of the Soviet AK47 Kalashnikov automatic rifle. The AKMS is a folding stock version of the AKMS. It is a model for paratroopers and tank crews that makes it possible to carry the bulky stock into small spaces by making it retractable.
The PBS1 suppressor, made at the same time, is still in use today, and the combination is suitable for special operations. The other AKMSU is a carbine version that is even shorter than the AKMS. It features a muzzle device with a gas chamber so that the gas system can operate even with a short barrel, and a foregrip added to improve control.
The AKMSU was commonly believed to be a small rifle for the Spetsnaz, but recent research has revealed that there is no evidence that it was developed in the Soviet Union, and it is now known as a "mysterious masterpiece."
